Since July 2017, Dr Angela Huang has been head of the Research Centre for the History of the Hanseatic League and the Baltic Sea Region at the European Hansemuseum. Her work focuses on topics related to Hanseatic history, Northern European economic history, textile history and comparative urban history.

Inga Lange
Research Associate, ‘The Flow’ project
Since 2023, Inga Lange has been a research assistant at the FGHO in the digital history project ‘The Flow’. Prior to that, she studied history at the University of Bremen, specializing in early modern Northern European shipping and trade history.

Dr. Bart Holterman
Research Associate
Bart Holterman has been working at the FGHO since June 2024. He works on topics related to late medieval and early modern economic history with a focus on the North Atlantic region (Iceland, Faroe Islands, Orkney and Shetland), digital humanities and historical-geographical research in the Hanseatic region.

Manuela Nitsch
Citizen Science Management
Manuela Nitsch has been working at FGHO since November 2024. As Citizen Science Manager, she oversees the project ‘Read!Hanse.Sources.’. She is a cultural educator and scholar with a particular interest in museums, cultural history and digital humanities.
